Amazon is at it again, offering to put another service in the cloud, this time with Amazon SimpleDB. This solution along with S3 and EC2 will enable just about any company to go completely virtual and buy data center services as if they were a utility (which is what they should be).
I’ve been using S3 for a while to backup my music and photos. I guess I should start playing with EC2 and SimpleDB now.
Also, I wonder if Scott Guthrie and his team can create a LINQ to SimpleDB interface. I will admit, that the couple of weeks I’ve been using Visual Studio 2008 and LINQ to SQL, I’m hooked.

someone is already working on LINQ provider for SimpleDB but it’s apparently quite tricky which makes sense considering how query functionality of SDB is crippled for the sake of performance. have a look here http://www.codethinked.com/…/Linq-To-SimpleD
